I’m seeking clarity.

A visitor resisters to become a site member by clicking the “register” link. They are taken to the WordPress registration page.
Q: Is there anyway to integrate the site’s template design into the page?

Within the WP registration form, there are many fields that are not mandatory but that information is necessary to complete the EE Event registration — most importantly, first name and last name.
Q:Is there anyway to make the fields required or post a message within the registration form asking the new member to fill out all fields?

Hello Michael,

Regarding the styling issue you could try a plugin like http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/theme-my-login/ and I’m sure there will be others available.

Currently the members plugin doesnt support customisation of the registration form, but again this can be done via other plugins.
