Hello,

I’ve seen this issue in the support forums but have not found a solution. We are using EE with MER (Multiple Event Registration) and WordPress HTTPS plugins. I just updated to WP 3.5.1 and EE 3.1.30.7P. On the cart page the total always displays 0.00. When WordPress HTTPS is deactivated the cart total works correctly. We need an SSL solution that also works with the cart using MER. I’ve seen threads mentioning Espresso HTTPS but they are all from 2011, so I believe they are no longer relevant.

Please advise on what SSL solution to use with MER.

WP Version: 3.5.1
EE Version: 3.1.30.7P
MER Version: 1.0.4

FWIW, I had allot of weirdness when running WordPress HTTPS. I ended up securing my entire site as it was easier/faster than trying to troubleshoot the glitches.

I’d prefer to just secure the checkout pages. I was able to do this previously and don’t want the experience to change for our users. Any other recommended options besides WordPress HTTPS?

Another problem I just found with WP HTTPS and MER was the “Remove Event” icon does not actually remove the event from the cart. When the WordPress HTTPS plugin is disabled, it does work. I really need another HTTPS option, please!! This is a live site, so advice is needed as soon as possible.

I just tried this out on my test site with MER and WordPress HTTPS and I couldn’t reproduce the problem. It sounds like there is a problem with the JavaScript breaking on your site when WordPress HTTPS is activated, which would cause the cart functionality to break. Can you try it again with all other plugins disabled and with the WordPress default twentytwelve theme enabled?

TwentyTwelve enabled, with only EE, MER, and WP HTTPS plugins activated now. Cart still doesn’t function properly—two previous problems are still occurring (incorrect total and can’t remove event).

Example can be found here: http://www.riversidefinearts.org/blog/concert-series/ (add both events to cart, then try deleting one event from cart. When you click “Enter Attendee Info” it gives the error that no tickets were selected for one of the events, please update or delete event from cart.)

Tested Authorize.net AIM gateway as well and the transactions will not get passed to Authorize.net with WordPress HTTPS plugin activated. This is using TwentyTwelve theme, with ONLY EE, MER and WP HTTPS plugins activated.

So WP HTTPS is definitely a no-go now. Do you still support using Espresso HTTPS?

Installed Espresso HTTPS, activated my styled theme and the rest of my plugins and all is well. If anyone else has this problem, I would suggest ditching WP HTTPS, and use Espresso HTTPS instead: http://ee-updates.s3.amazonaws.com/espresso-https.1.0.zip
