Widget customization – more information in widget

We are going to be including events, arranged side by side on the home page of the site we are developing. We would like the event to include more then Title and Event Date. A brief description of each event is what we are looking for. Can the widget be modified to do this?

Hi Gary,

One way you could do this without modifying the widget code would be to use a plugin or a function that makes it possible to place a shortcode in a widget, then use the [EVENT_LIST] shortcode within the widget.

Alternatively, you can customize the widget template file (/templates/widget.php) to include the event’s description.
