I am modifying the qtip output of the espresso calendar and I have venues associated with each event. Currently I’m using the venue shortcode with the event ID to output this information but would like to have more control.

I noticed in the $event object there are a few venue parameters ( http://imgur.com/gdzqQ )…why does this not pick up the associated venue information the way I would expect?

Are you using the venue manager, or are you entering the venue info directly into the event editor?

The venue manager. We have recurring venues so it made more sense that way…anyway to associate the two or extract out details from the shortcode?

There are all sorts of parameters you can add to the [ESPRESSO_VENUE] shortcode. What information are you trying to add? Have you looked at all the options here?: http://staging.eventespresso.com/wiki/shortcodes-template-variables/#venue

I can definitely give that a try, but I was just hoping to be able to control the format in a custom loop instead of using the shortcode

There isn’t a custom loop that you could really use. They aren’t posts, so there’s no get_posts or query_posts equivalent. You’d need to work with the SQL directly, hence, it’s probably easier to just use the shortcode. Plus, all the data for venues should be accessible through the [ESPRESSO_VENUE] shortcode parameters.
