The current version of EE doesn’t have the Assign a Waitlist & Overflow Event like in the Test Drive Site. I’ve found a number of issues with the current EE that were not present in the Test Drive. What versions of WordPress & EE are used for the Test Drive? Is EE more stable using Twenty-eleven theme?
It turns out that the current version of Event Espresso (which is running on the test site) has the assign a waitlist feature. Have you looked at the documentation on how to set it up?
tldr: if you don’t see a waitlist option, you likely haven’t set up a waitlist event yet.
We haven’t updated the test drive’s WP installation to 3.8 yet, but it’s running version 3.7.1 and we have not seen any difference in ee functionality between those two versions.
The front-end of Event Espresso may work better with twentyeleven than some other themes because twentyeleven doesn’t do anything like de-queue the built in version of jQuery, but other than that it isn’t any more stable with twentyeleven.
Josh, you got my back. After I added a waitlist event, I never checked any other events to see that the field became available. I now see how you are able to use this as a workaround to not display events on the calendar. As a workaround, it presents its own issues but at least I now know it works.
So, if I use the workaround to not display some events on the calendar (ex., we sell t-shirts which really don’t belong on the calendar) can I get the t-shirts to display somewhere else. I’m using REM. I also tried the price modifier but it seemed buggy. Perhaps, I missed a step again.
EE is more complex than it first appears. If you have an out-of-the-box need it is a quick setup. Conventions with an array of different setups takes a while but well worth it. Beginning to love EE and especially the support.
