I’m finally getting going with Event Espresso (bought it some months ago) and am working on local development server. I’ve created two events. When I click on “view event” from the event overview, I get a blank page. When I go to the event-registration page where the [ESPRESSO_EVENTS] shortcode is, that page also only displays a blank page. I created a page and pasted in the single event code [SINGLEEVENT single_event_id=”us-20131-5102b0a710b86″] and that page works fine. Any help?

Hi Mary,

Does the view event link not work for both events or just one?

Also, is the [ESPRESSO_EVENTS] shortcode set to be the main registration page in Event Espresso>General Settings?

Hi Josh,
Neither. And, yes, it is set to be the main reg page in general settings.

You might try checking the content within the events’ descriptions. If there are any shortcodes like [EVENT_LIST] in the event’s descriptions this could make this happen.

I haven’t added any other shortcode.
I did do a recover from my remote server using the wordpress site export/import. Is there something that could have gotten messed up in the database at this point. I have no problem looking at the data if you can point me what to look for.
I’ve tried deactivating and even deleting/reloading EE plugin, but of course that doesn’t delete the data from the WP database.

You might want to check the dates on the events, make sure they are future events and that the registration is open. You might want to try setting up another page and using the [EVENT_LIST show_expired=true] shortcode to see if they show up there.
The events are stored in the wp_events_details table in the database, if you have access and want to take a look there.

[EVENTS_LIST] works just fine. Registration is open. And, when I use [ESPRESSO_EVENTS] on this page and reset it in the General Settings, it works. I go back to my previous registration page, reset again in General Settings, and that one doesn’t work. So there must be something messed up with that page/data. I’ll move on from here with new page and settings.

That could very well be the case with the original page.
