We need a way to allow our community to submit events that we can than edit and approve for publishing. Is this possible?

Hi Mark,

At this time Event Espresso does not have a feature that allows for user (or Front-End) submitted events. There are plans to add this functionality, and there is an opportunity to sponsor this feature. See this for more info: http://staging.eventespresso.com/rich-features/sponsor-new-features/

Mark,

You can look into the Roles & Permissions Basic (http://staging.eventespresso.com/product/espresso-permissions-basic/) add-on, or even the Pro version (http://staging.eventespresso.com/product/espresso-permissions-pro/) add-on
