Upgrading without using your licence key

I read that I shouldn’t enter my licence key until the site is a permanent live domain to prevent issues with upgrading automatically in the future. Can I delete the plugins and upgrade manually?

BTW does the new version do away with the manually added cart code or is that in a future release?

Yes, you can delete the plugins and install the new versions manually. More information is here:
