Hi, In the upcoming widget I’ve got 2 recurring events (course of classes), one for June, one for July. What I am trying to achieve for my client is that the next class for each month should appear. So the first class in June, and the first event in July. So half way through June, you’ll see the next upcoming class for June, and still the first in July. This will continue, with maybe the first for August and September, etc.
Is this possible?
What do I have to do?
Thanks.
Generally the widget will use the registration date to define whether an event is shown or not (unless an option like show expired events is selected.
So it depends on when the registration ends.
Example, if you have your June and July event and set the widget to show just 2 upcoming events, if the registration period for the June event ends on the last day of June, then on the first of July the widget will show the July and August events (on the basis of one event per month).
OK, thanks for the example, makes what you want to achieve much clearer.
Well, it isnt possible with the default widget as is. I thought I had a great idea using 2 widgets and 2 categories but it failed to work when you get to the end of July (it ends up showing Sep and then Aug).
As such I cannot see any way to do this without creating a custom widget/shortcode to make this happen.
Looking at the Custom Files addon, theres a couple of shortcodes that could potentially be used as a basis but nothing that will fulfil your needs out of the box.
