The widget called “Upcoming Events” doesn’t seem to have a translation engine for it. Is this true? How can I correct this without modifying EE files?
Thanks

Hi,

The widget uses the event-espresso/templates/widget.php file for all output.

You can copy this file to wp-content/uploads/espresso/templates/ and make any modifications needed there which will keep them ‘update-safe’.

This cannot be an acceptable solution. I will lose any future updates that you will perform on this widget.php file.

Hi,

I have created a ticket to allow the widget output to be translatable but currently the quickest method to achieve this is to add any modifications you need and perform the steps above.

Any updates applied to the template files can be merged with the customized version using a program such as DiffMerge

Thanks for the ticket.

I am trying to understand why it doesn’t work, is it because it is a widget? It has a different domain for the translations? I am thinking to use a plugin which will help me overpass this issues.

In the po file there is:

#: ../../../plugins/event-espresso.3.1/includes/admin-files/dashboard_widget.php:144
#: ../../../plugins/event-espresso.3.1/templates/widget.php:175
#: ../../../plugins/event-espresso.3.2/templates/widget.php:166
msgid “Upcoming Events”
msgstr “Evenimente viitoare”

I looked into this and all the text strings in widget.php are being run through translation functions. Can you let us know what isn’t translating for you so we can look into this further?

The title itself – “Upcoming Events”. Thanks.

The title that displayed above the widget is controlled by what is entered in the Widget settings Title field. You can change the title text via the widget settings.

You are so right, sorry for that, I have overlooked it.
