I’ve done some translation in the glotpress site and exported it by filters to .mo and .po files. Then i uploaded the files into the language folder but it doesn’t seem to work. The language is set to “sv_SE” in my wp-config file. Is there anything i got wrong?

Hi Victor,

Could you try adjusting the file names like this:

event_espresso-sv_SE.mo
event_espresso-sv_SE.po

Hello, when you view Event Espresso menus and pages in the WordPress admin, are any of the words already translated?

Also what is the location that you added the files to?

Hello, None of the words are translated.

The location for the files are:

/anmal.stockholmfotomaraton.se/public_html/wp-content/uploads/espresso/languages/

Thanks again!

Hello, the language macro may not be setup correctly.

Could you relocate the language macro in your wp-config.php file towards the middle of the file and save changes?

Okay, I got this working on my test site. I realized that I shared the wrong file name in my earlier post.

First, ensure that the following macro is in your wp-config.php file:

define(‘WPLANG’,’sv_SE’);

Then adjust your file names so they are like this:

event_espresso-sv_SE.mo
event_espresso-sv_SE.po

It won’t work. What exactly did you do? can it be something I miss along the way?
My WPLANG is set to sv_SE which works (the site is on swedish and all wordpress adminpanelchoices. My PO,MO files are named correctly and lies in the uploads/espresso/Languages/ dir. There are an empty index.php in that dir to if that does something?

I am using Po,Mo files that I’ve translated in http://staging.eventespresso.com/glotpress/projects/event-espresso-4/sv/event-espresso-sv_SE?filters%5Bterm%5D=&filters%5Buser_login%5D=&filters%5Bstatus%5D=current&filter=Filter&sort%5Bby%5D=original&sort%5Bhow%5D=desc

and then exported by the export by filter choice so that only the translated files are there.

Do i need to change something in the admin panel at the website or something?

Is there an underscore between event_espresso in the file names instead of a dash?

Yes, this is the filename “event_espresso-sv_SE.mo” and “event_espresso-sv_SE.po”.

Hi Victor,

EE4 should automatically download language files based on the WPLANG settings.

If you go to wp-content/plugins/event-espresso-core-reg/languages/ do you find a event_espresso-sv_SE.mo file?

If so please remove the two files from wp-content/uploads/espresso/languages/ and test if Event Espresso translates (note the translations are lacking some – http://take.ms/pd3dV)

Do you now get the same results as me?

If so then there is an issue with the language files you are uploading to wp-content/uploads/espresso/languages/

Ive got it working now! Thank you for the help! The thing I did was to delete the files in the uploads/espresso/languages and put the files under /plugin/event.espresso-sv/…/languages.

And now it is working!

Hi Victor,

Firstly just to check ‘/plugin/event.espresso-sv/…/languages’

The event.espresso-sv directory, is that a typo? Can you tell me what the directory is for Event Espresso currently please?

Also if I understand correctly you have copied the files FROM the plugins/event-espresso-core-reg/languages/ directory TO wp-content/uploads/espresso/languages/ is that correct?
