Timezone wrong

EE is reflecting the wrong time. I have added a line to my php.ini as stated in a different post as well as one of the guys at host gator also put a line in my htaccess file.

I have an old site that I check to see if the time was right on that one and it was. This is most likely an issue with the plugin I have on the new site which is the most current version. The old site hasn’t been updated in quite a while.

Hi Stuart,

Within WP Settings -> General. Under Timezone. This needs to be set to your city or the city closest to you. If UTC is currently in use this will likely be your issue.

Thats already correct every thing other that EE is reporting the time right.

BTW old install of EE is Version 3.1.29.1.P

That version of EE is almost a year old, you may find that updating fixes your problem as there have been many changes to both WP (assuming it is up-to-date?) and EE since that version.

Personally I would do a full site back up (both files and DB) and update EE.

Depending on the current WP version you may find other issues which may need to be addressed but ultimately it is best to run the latest versions of both.

The site I’m having this issue with has the latest version of the plugin. The one that the time is correct on has a year old version of EE on it.

*Note log-in needs to be admin level and FTP details in this case are also required.

Hi Stuart,

I’ve just logged in and checked WP Settings -> General. ‘Timezone’.

It is set as UTC-8. You must set the time zone for your city, or the city closest to you. UTC time will not work with Event Espresso.
