Hello team! I am just diving into a new installation of EE and have run into a stumper pretty early on. The clock will not display the correct time. Every other forum post I’ve been able to find on this issue was due to the user being set to UTC. I am not using UTC — my WP General Settings timezone is set to Chicago (we are in Minneapolis). But EE’s clock seems to be stuck on (ironically?) UTC time — 10pm here, but EE says 4am.

I’ve changed my WP general settings several times — both to other cities in the same time zone (hello Menomonee!) and cities in other zones, and the WP clock setting is correct each time, but the EE time doesn’t change, ever. Is there another setting that I might be missing somewhere?

I have a screenshot of the two side by side but don’t see a way to attach an image. I don’t know that it would be helpful, but I snapped it to prove that I’m not just imagining it. :)

WP version: 3.8.1
New installation of Event Espresso 3.1.36.2.P (says the footer)
Add-ons: Calendar, Custom Template Display, Multi-event, Recurring, Social Media, API Plugin, Recurring table w/ dropdowns — they are all activated but I haven’t gotten around to working with any of them yet, first things first!
Thanks!

Dean

Hi Jeff,

Sorry for the issues.

If you have set the timezone in WordPress to the local city and it still isn’t functioning correctly, then it may be a server setting.

You could try adding

date_default_timezone_set('America/Chicago');

to the wp-config.php file (just below the opening PHP tag) and see if that helps. If not you may need to speak to your host regarding the matter.

Also, I would update to the latest Event Espresso version just in case (3.1.36.4)
