time zone not working?

I got the timezone set up to UTC+2 in wordpress but it shows the standard UTC in the Event Overview page, will this cause a problem with registrations closing early or is it just Event Espresso showing the UTC time?

Due to limitations with the PHP function date_default_timezone_set(). UTC time zones do not work with EE. You will need to use a supported time zone setting (region/city name).
