Time Zone Issue

Have timezone set to “New York” on WP General Settings.

Time is showing accurately on EE > General Settings

But registrations are coming in showing a time of UTC.

Any thoughts as to why?

Which timezone is the server located in?

EDT but it’s Amazon Web Service which forces db servers to use UTC (we can’t change it, I’ve tried).

As a follow up, might it be necessary to fudge the WP timezone to match the db UTC setting so our registration dates/time won’t start/end incorrectly?

I would say it’s better to leave it as a city, and run a quick test on a test event to make sure it closes at the correct time and adjust if needed. In Event Espresso 3.2, all of the dates and times will be using UNIX timestamps, which should address any inconsistencies between server settings and WordPress settings.
