The Registration and Event dates say 2011 and 2020 no matter what I do. This is causing the end user to see the event expired. I keep changin the date to the correct day and it keeps changing to 2020.

Hi Steven,

How is the date being formatted? Normally a calendar will pop up that will allow you to select a date and it will automatically format it to be YYYY-MM-DD. Is that what you’re seeing?

Yes i use the calendar feature and set the date. when I update the event it looks like this: September 13,2020 and it is doing this to all my previous events that were open as well and reformatting the dates to 2020.. its messed up for sure

Hi Steven,

It sounds like some sort of plugin conflict. Have you tried disabling all other plugins temporarily to see if it still happens with just Event Espresso loaded? If it doesnt occur, then it is another plugin causing the issue.

so i deactivated all plugins and the conflicting plugin is the latest event expresso. it totally messes up my theme so that nothing will work. so i go back to the previous event expresso 3.1.122 and it everything seems to work and dates work, but no matter if the event says “open” when you open the event form it says it is expired?

Hi Steven,

There may be a theme function that is overriding the date functionality of Event Espresso, or you may try a fresh download of Event Espresso in case your update didn’t download fully.

A quick way to check whether the theme is conflicting is by installing the theme test drive plugin and running the default WordPress theme as the admin.

i tried the theme test drive and used the default and still said expired events and now when i go back it seems to revert all the dates on the events to 2002.. i’m confused.

Hi Steven,

I can advise downloading and installing a fresh copy of Event Espresso and updating your site with the fresh copy. After doing so you may need to re-save the events after updating the dates.
