Hi, I’d like to ask what is the status for the Seating Chart in terms of it’s development and where does it stand in regards priority level (with the other EE add-ons).

I’ve been altering some of the plugin (CSS and JS) codes to make the layout suit my system better, but I would like to know what plans does the EE team have in regards to it’s development.

Will there be any options to make the “Choose a seat” a separate page(as opposed the current jquery popup)? The reason why I’m asking this is because my whole site is designed to be responsive however I’ve refrained from using the seating chart(on the client’s end) as it currently breaks the responsive layout that I’m using.(and I don’t like how it currently works on touch screen devices).

I also believe that making it as a different page would make the experience more seamless with regards to the client/customer’s purchasing flow, as some of the sites that have similar use case have the page by page implementation design for their seat booking system.

I understand that the plugin is still in it’s Alpha page, however I did pay $249(add-on price) for it and I don’t see the harm of asking where it currently stands and what are the future plans for it. :)

Hi Zaki,

There is certainly no harm in asking and thank you for your feedback.

Our current focus in on getting Event Espresso 4.0 out the door, but please know that we are not stropping development on any of the add ons including the seating chart.

While we have no set roadmap for the add on, we have been discussing internally ways to improve it. I am not sure if the separate page will be implemented as this may prove difficult with group registrations, but nothing has been finalised, so I will definitely note down your idea on that.
