I read a post from February that said you would be working on allowing the use of Euros on particular events, while allowing the use of dollars on others. Any updates on that?
I’m afraid there wasn’t an indication in the other thread post that this was actually going to be a new feature that we would start working on. Dean said this:
I am keen to see it included so I will be keeping my efforts up at nudging the developers in that direction, but of course, there is no guarantee when or if it will be included.
At this point nothing has been started on working out a feature to allow for currency independent events.
At first I thought this wouldn’t be very hard, but if you start thinking about all the cases, then it starts getting more complex. For instance, if you are using the Multiple Event Registration add-on, and you add one event that uses dollars and another event that uses euros, then what currency is the total amount in the shopping cart going to be in?
That said, if you are not using the MER we may be able to write up some custom code for you under a couple of support tokens, depending on how many add-ons you are using. I can see it affecting members, recurring events, seating-chart, ticketing, and volume-discounts.
Thank you for your response Sidney, I appreciate it! the client has decided to use dollars instead, but I don’t doubt that they will require payment in Euros in the future as they are an international company. Many thanks.
