We have noticed that Event Espresso is holding spots in events for folks who have not yet paid. We want Event Espresso to hold spots for people only once they have PAID. Is this possible? How might we go about doing this?
Event Espresso will only hold spots for people who haven’t paid yet if the default registration status is set to Pending or Complete. If the Default payment status is set to Incomplete, it will record the registration details, but their spot is not held.
There is a way to hold a spot if they have not paid if there’s an off-site gateway active though. Can you let us know which payment options are offered at checkout?
This is possible. If you go into the Event Espresso>General settings and look under advanced options, there’s a setting that says:
Default Payment Status (this value will be automatically filled in for each person’s payment status, until payment is made, for each event):
You can set this to “Incomplete”.
Then there’s also an override setting in the event editor called “Default Payment Status for Event:”. You can check that and make sure it’s set to “No Change”.
