I have the same problem, though I do have a custom e-mail AND a default master e-mail template created. But it doesn’t seem to matter which I use, no registration confirmations get sent, not to the registrant, nor to me, the default WP admin address. What else can I check?

Hello Justin,

I would start with checking the spam folders (sounds overly simple but its always worth checking the basics first).

If not then I would say it sounds like a server SMTP issue. This can happen depending on the server configuration. You could either discuss it with your host or try an additional plugin/service such as http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/wp-mail-smtp/ or http://postmarkapp.com/

Thanks Dean.

It was not a spam issue (we have our own externally hosted exchange to which I have admin access and can confirm all spam logs and corporate black/white lists, so I can see interceptions right away).

Rather, I found redemption using WP Mail SMTP plugin many were suggesting (same as you) and it works like a dream now. I’m a little concerned that its config doesn’t mask the SMTP authentication password you can type in, like other mailer plugins I have used, but so be it. It’s simple, light-weight, and gets the job done (for free, I might add).

Thanks for your input, regardless.

Hi Justin,

There may be other SMTP plugins that mask the SMTP authentication password that you could try, or you could post a feature request here:
