I’m getting over 2/3s of my event registration is spam registrations. I have reCaptcha installed. This is a new installation and Event Espresso is up-to-date as well as all installed plugins. Here’s the registration page: http://atanc.org/event-registration/?regevent_action=register&event_id=1

    Thanks

      Hi Dianne,

There is a WordPress plugin that will likely help reduce the spam:

      Bad Behavior

Please note: You will need to whitelist your Payment Gateway in order to continue receiving payment notifications. For example if you use PayPal, you can whitelist PayPal by following this guide:

Thank you! I have the plug-in installed and will give it a go. The whitelisting is a bit confusing (not the concept but understanding what exactly is required). I think I might have it setup properly.

You can double-check to see if it’s set up correctly by going into the Bad Behavior plugin’s settings and check the logs. If you don’t see traffic getting blocked that’s coming from the payment processor, that’s good. If you do, the log will display the IP addresses what’s getting blocked, so you can add the IP addresses to the whitelist accordingly.

Thanks! I got some more spam yesterday on our event registration but I’ll see if it was a matter of transition or something. This event registration is closing today. I think I’ll create a “test” event and see how many registrations I receive through spam. Thanks again for your assistance!!

              Hi Dianne,

There’s another plugin that may help in addition to the Bad Behavior plugin:

Thanks again Josh! I looked at the log and it is catching quite a bit. I’ve also installed Bad Behavior. Really appreciate your assistance and quick response time! Very impressive and much appreciated!!
