I have tried to use the short code,

[EVENT_LIST order_by=date(start_date),id]

but for some reason its isnt changing the order of events.

Hi Joe,

The documentation is a little confusing on this one. You need to add a sort parameter. So if you wanted to order by start date and order them ascending it would be:

[EVENT_LIST order_by=start_date sort=ASC]

or if you want to order them starting with the furthest event in the future then go back (descending) it would be:

[EVENT_LIST order_by=start_date sort=DESC]

Josh,

Thank you first for your fast response. I am still having a problem! It doesn’t want to work.

Please see how it appears even tho I use the Short Code for ascending order.

Hi Joe,

Can you post the exact shortcode you’re using so we can investigate further?

[EVENT_LIST order_by=start_date sort=ASC]

It the same one you posted about.

Can you check in the event editor and make sure that the dates are entered in this format:

2013-06-11

Which is year-month-day. I’m wondering if the calendar date picker isn’t working when you select dates in the admin.

That fixed the problem! Thank you!

Yesterday I lost internet while putting that event up & the calendar picker would not work so i just typed in the date manually!

Thanks a bunch!
