This is the second time my client has seen this happen. Somehow, she received 15 registration confirmation emails that are completely empty, except for a registration ID. When I use phpMyAdmin to look in the attendee table, I see that the every field is null or empty except: id, registration_id, date (happened today), payment status (Completed), amount_pd (0.00), total cost (0.00), quantity (1), payment_date (today), event_id (0), attendee_session.
About 15 of these happened within about 5 minutes of each other, and no other valid registration was received today. One of the entries I see the in the table shows Pending as the status, indicating and invoice (maybe that got set that way by my client clicking the link in the email to get more info?)
The first time it happened was 4/3/13, also around 8am, and today’s incident was 5/3/13 around 8am. Could there be something scheduled on the 3rd of each month that would be able to do this somehow? It reeks of robot to me, but I have no idea how it would be able to get anything submitted to the database, and mimic a confirmed payment, too. ??
With the time period being so regular, have you checked your server for any cron jobs? Do you have any backup plugins or plugins which schedule tasks running?
