With paid paypal events, emails will not send the customers their tickets, the green check mark comes up stating paid, and I tried the smtp plugin and it still does not work.
If the default payment status is set to complete in Event Espresso>General Settings -and- the email is set to be sent after payment is made, the emails will not get sent out.
You can resolve this by setting the Default Payment status to either pending or incomplete in Event Espresso>General Settings. Please note that this setting can be overridden for specific events in the event editor under “Event Options”. If you set the event to use “No Change” it will use the saved setting in Event Espresso>General Settings.
So I just changed the setting to pending as apposed to completed… I then went and bought a ticket and the status stayed at pending and my ticket was still not emailed to me.
So if it didn’t update the payment status, then the IPN may not be reaching the site in order to automatically change the payment status from pending to complete.
There are two things that you can do that may help resolve this:
1) Verify that the IPN is turned on in the PayPal account.
2) Set the /transactions page to use the simplified page template. Please see this thread for a link to download the template, and the readme.txt file for instructions on how to set it up: http://staging.eventespresso.com/topic/problems-with-incomplete-payments-download/
