Hello,

Required fields are not validating in my contact form. I can leave them blank and just go to another page? Would you know how can I fix it?

Are you using Event Espresso for your contact form or are you talking about your registration forms/registration page?

Sounds like a Javascript issue. Do you have a link to the registration page?

Hi,

If it is the toughathlon site then yes there is a Javascript issue, it looks like the theme is trying to run Jaavscript using $ instead of jQuery or the noconflict mode.

As such it is causing a lot of issues with the jQuery on the page.

IS there any solution for this?

Hi,

Yes, please contact your theme developer and let him know they need to fix the theme to be compatible with WordPress.

Here is the specific error that is causing things to break:

Error: TypeError: $ is not a function
Source File: http://toughathlon.ie/wp-content/themes/theme1562/js/custom.js?ver=1.0
Line: 30

Or you can manually try cahnges all occurrences of the “$” to “jQuery” in this file:

I am in bit of trouble here. I managed to rename all the $ to jQuery in custom.js
but still the same thing even if the file custom.js is renamed to customOLD.js the website work the same way..

You still have the same issue, just in a different js file. This is why Seth recommended contacting the theme developer.
