Our registration form has several required fields and uses reCaptcha but we recently received a registration with many of the required fields left blank. Also, it’s a hoax registration, garbage info. Any suggestions on how to prevent this (not necessarily the hoax but the getting by the required fields)?

Hi Adelaide,

I checked the site that’s tied to your support license and the form validation is working as expected. The current version’s form validation can be bypassed by disabling JavaScript though. If someone or something really wanted to get past the form validation, they could disable their web browser’s JavaScript setting.

One thing that may help is to make sure the mod_security module is installed on your web server. There is more information about this in our blog:

Thank you Josh.

So if mod_security is installed on our server (it is) and we’re using reCaptcha, it’s likely that it’s a human being mischievous and not a bot?

Hi Adelaide,

I don’t have any data to prove this one way or the other.
