Can this plug in be configured to allow seminar registration for a targeted group of invitees who are given a Seminar Code? I need to have the event viewable to all visitors to our website, but I need to restrict registration only to qualified invitees who have been provided with a Seminar Code. How is this handled by Event Espresso?
Event Espresso by itself cannot be configured to restrict registrations to those who enter a code. However, there is an add-on that we sell that makes it possible to restrict the registrations only to those who are registered as users of the site:
So qualified invitees would need to have a user account on the site, and be logged into the site in order to register for the event. If you have a list of qualified invitees in excel, this could be converted to a CSV file and this plugin would allow you to batch import the list into WordPress: http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/import-users-from-csv/
Then you could send out the invites and include log in info for the qualified invitees.
To clarify, I can use a .csv file to import 140 users (for example) into my wordpress site. The .csv file would contain name, surname and login password.
I could then use your espresso members plugin so that only these users are able to login and register and pay for a meeting ticket.
The .csv file would also need to have the user_email, user_login, and user role.
