On some of my events the Firstname/Lastname fields are appearing:
    http://secureaseat.com/register/?ee=194

    on others they are not:
    http://secureaseat.com/register/?ee=193

I have my E.E. perams set the same for both events. What’s going on?

With all due respect this is a live event and these kinds of random surprises severely hurt repeat business. If it was a human error made on my part I definitely wouldn’t be writing this harsh commentary. I understand E.E. is still in development and racing to roll out the next major release, but things like this cause irrevocable damage to my client relationships (and my faith in you guys as developers).

          Hi sp,

Do you have the Roles and Permissions add-on installed? If so, which version?

Yes, Roles & Permissions (BASIC) v1.5.1

With the two events you’ve linked to above, were these created by the same user, or by different users?

                The same user

What happens if you deactivate the R & P add-on?

Try duplicating the event where the questions are not showing up. It may be that when the event was created, the meta did not get saved to the database correctly.

If that does not take care of this issue, would you mind sending admin credentials so we can take a look? Please send via the contact form: http://staging.eventespresso.com/contact/

Select the “I am sending login info as requested” department form.

Duplicating the events doesn’t help. Some of the events in the database have SQL errors come up for the creator/user. I will send you the login info now.

                          Where are the errors?

                            Check event 206: http://secureaseat.com/register/?ee=206

Are there other events that are not showing questions?

Everything seems to work now, thanks. It might have been Roles & Permissions (BASIC) v1.5.1.

Is there anyway I can get a refund for this plugin? It doesn’t have the functionality I need (my clients to be able to have read but not write permission to events and attendees)

So what happened? Can I no longer use this plugin? What was the reason for it now showing the registration form?

                                    July 25, 2012 at 8:31 am

I was under the impression that you were no longer going to use the R&P add-on since you mentioned it did not do what you needed it to do and you requested a refund.

My guess would be that the affected events were tied to question groups that had not been saved in the db correctly. Or it’s possible that the groups may have been deleted. By deactivating the R&P add-on and re-saving these events as an admin, this pulled in the question groups that are assigned to the admin role.

Thanks again for the support with this issue. Yes I did request a refund but haven’t received a reply yet — just wondering if I don’t get one if this plugin can still be used without error.

Could it be that R&P was causing errors because it was installed after the events were created?

I’m coming in late on this because Josh is out today, but it sounds to me like whatever issue you were having was a result of the R&P permissions, so you can still use Event Espresso if you just disable the Roles & Permissions add-on.
