To close the event without displaying the number of attendees registered I simply set the Display Registration Form to “No”. I did this at roughly 10:30 this morning. As a backup precaution I removed the pricing and the payment information. There is physically no way for someone to register. At 2:12 someone registered for the event. We received the email notification of the attempt. Is there another setting I should have turned off?
This happened because this attendee/registrant had already visited your event page and started the registration process earlier in the day but did not finish right away.
Then later in the day, they finished up the registration which closed up their session.
There is a feature that is available in WP-admin –> Event Espresso –> General Settings that lets you put a time limit on ticket reservations:
Thank you Lorenzo, that makes sense. I will set time limits moving forward.
