We would like to sell tickets for a festival, for various events throughout the 3 day period. How can we sell tickets to different events on the same transaction. The Multiple Event Registration add-on allows us to register multiple people but for only ONE EVENT each time/transaction. There doesn’t seem to be a typical shopping cart functionality with overview of different ticketed events. Frustrating for visitors who don’t want to have to complete several transactions. All help most welcome! Thank you.

Hi Caroline,

The Multiple Event Registration add-on actually does allow users to register for multiple events in one transaction. When they are viewing the list of events, they can click Add To Cart on whichever events they want to register for. Then they are taken to a page where they enter how many of each ticket they want. Are you not seeing this?

Hi Jonathan,
Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately, it’s not working for us. Can you please take a look at the website to see for yourself: http://www.alderneyperformingartsfestival.com/ We have set up the Tenebrae event using the add to cart short code, but created a “register and buy” button to save confusion: http://www.alderneyperformingartsfestival.com/event-registration?regevent_action=show_shopping_cart.

If I select up to three events, and then return to the home page, where will my cart show?

Thanks for your help!

Hi Caroline,

The reason you can this differently is the site is not using the standard event list.

If you go to this page http://www.alderneyperformingartsfestival.com/event-registration you can see the ‘Add To Cart’ link, which allows you to add multiple events to the cart.

If I select up to three events, and then return to the home page, where will my cart show?

There is the Espresso Cart Widget available within Appearance -> Widgets which is only displayed when there are events within the cart. Or you can simply create a menu item which links to:

http://www.alderneyperformingartsfestival.com/event-registration?regevent_action=show_shopping_cart

Which will direct the user to the cart.

The current ESPRESSO_CART_LINK shortcode you have within the Tenebrae event appears to have the ‘direct_to_cart’ attribute set, which is directing the user to the cart when clicked. Removing this attribute will leave the user on the current page.

Does that help?
