Hi,

I’m confused as to if and/or how this would be possible:

For example:
I have a recurring event (let’s call it Event1) that happens every Tuesday of the week. Instead of having 52 different pages/posts for this event, is there a way that I can have a main page/post (that I can create) for this event that shows all upcoming dates/instances (e.g. myurl.com/events/Event1 )?

In other words, when I create a recurring event, is there an EE identifier of some sort for the event as a whole?

Hope that makes sense. Thankful for any input.

this would be great, or at least the option to create a single post that’s updated (cron job or something similar)

Hello,

Sorry for the delay in response. You could create a category for your events that are in a specific series, then use the [EVENT_ESPRESSO_CATEGORY event_category_id="category_identifier"] shortcode to display all of the upcoming events in that series/category.

Does this makes sense?

thanks for the response. Just to make sure I understand correctly….so I would create a separate category for each event that is recurring?

Stefan,

If you want all events in a recurring series to show on one page, you would create one category and apply it to each of the events. Then use the [EVENT_ESPRESSO_CATEGORY event_category_id="category_identifier"] shortcode.

If you already have alot of events in a series that have been created, you can apply the category to any one of the events and where it asks, “Would you like to apply any of the changes that you have made to this event to” you can choose “All events in the series”. That will update all of the events with the category.

this works great – thanks again.

Last question: Is there an easy way for me to modify the output of that shortcode? Specifically, only show a limited amount of instances (e.g. 10), change the date_format, and remove the links?
