Is it possible to have recurring events be a subset of an event? For example, if you had an annual Halloween Costume Ball, could the ball event then have a subset for each year? I’d like to be able to have attendees rate events, and have an average star ratings for a single year, but also have one that aggregates over all years. Kind of like in Apple’s App Store there’s a star rating for the app, and there’s also a star rating for the latest version.

Hi ilanabit,

How are you today?

All events are independent right now. We also don’t have a particular ratings system by default. Those functions and relationships would have to be developed.

There a lot of existing ratings plugins out there, any that you recommend?

Hi,

I think the problem currently is we are not using true custom post types.

As such most third party rating plugins would struggle to provide ratings on each event as it isnt a true post, nor are there comments, though you could so it on an overall system via the main event registration page.

You could also use the Custom Post type system built in (which in effect duplicates the event) and use the rating system on those posts.

If our road map goes to plan, 4.1 will have transferred the system over to custom post types, meaning using a third party plugin will be much easier so long as it supports custom post types.
