Hi, I’ve been trying to figure this out for two and a half hours now and I’m about to go nuts. I would like to set a recurring event, beginning tomorrow, Saturday July 28, and recurring every subsequent Saturday for a year. I have entered registration dates of July 1 to July 28, indicated this is a recurring event, and “NO” to registration for all classes during this time, registration via formula. The classes will be held on Saturday so I selected the option to repeat Monthly, repeating every 1 month, Repeat by Day of Week (Saturday).

Whenever I select these options, however, the Projected Recurrences of This Event generates a schedule beginning on Sat. August 30 and a registration date of July 1-28.

Can anyone let me in on what I’m doing wrong?

Something doesn’t look right. Are you using the latest versions of both EE and MER? Looks like you may be missing the very first “Event Start Date” and “Event End Date” in the top of the event editor. It may be some kind of limitation of the REM addon that those dates need to be filled in.

Here is what I have, when following your example:

Hi,

Thanks for getting back to me. I believe I have the most current versions of each, as I don’t have any “Update” notifications. At any rate, here are the version nos:
EE: Version 3.1.21.P
MER: Version 1.0.2

Regarding the missing first instances, I actually removed them at the last minute before taking the screen-shot, thinking that’s what was munging things up since there were duplicate fields in the “Recurring” area; however, all the other times I tried it, I replicated the I put the correct dates in all instances of the fields.

Here’s what I did as a work-around (and I wouldn’t exactly recommend this, but it seems to have worked): Rather than have the recurring dates replicated automatically, I started over and selected “manual” and entered the dates by hand. In that way, I was able to establish the registration “formula” for the first occurrence and have it replicate within an acceptable range for the other dates.

I just tried — again — filling in the fields you suggested and, of course, I got my original result — again.

Hi Jason,

The current version of Event Espresso is 3.1.25.P

The autoupdate feature was added with the release of 3.1.24.P. I recommend updating the core plugin + the add-ons by downloading the new versions from your account page. Follow these steps to manually update the plugins: http://staging.eventespresso.com/wiki/updating-event-espresso/

After updating, delete the old versions and enter the site license key to the Event Espresso>General Settings page’s License key field. Then you’ll have access to update notifications and 1 click updates.

Well, that makes sense. Thanks! I’ll do that now…
