my site: http://www.diskuto.ca – I’m just starting to build it.

using up to date version of EE and all add-ons (downloaded two days ago)

I’m using 2012 theme. I tried switching to a few different themes – no luck.

my only active plugins are event espresso and the event calendar (previously uploaded a lot more add-ons but since moved to a different folder in wp-content named ‘_plugins’)

I’ve tried wrapping the shortcode in [RAW][/RAW} and [NOFORMAT] etc and still no luck.

Also cleared my cache.

The only thing I can think of is that I installed and activated EE Lite (free plugin) and Events Manager plugin before buying EE. These are since deleted.

Help!

More deets:
Event Espresso version 3.1.30.7P
WordPress version WP 3.5.1
Active plugins:

Event Espresso – Calendar by Event Espresso version 2.0.4,
Event Espresso by Event Espresso version 3.1.30.7P

Sorry – please check http://diskuto.ca/event-registration/ or http://diskuto.ca/2013/03/test-calendar-post/ as the root / page is a ‘coming soon’ image (just remember I shouldn’t be showing all the guts yet))

Update: also tried building a separate calendar page template as per the last suggestion here: http://staging.eventespresso.com/wiki/calendar/

Either I’m an idiot (entirely a possibility) or something else is wrong?

Hi Pat,

I checked the source of the pages you linked to and it’s indicating that the Calendar plugin did not get installed completely/correctly. There are 403 errors for all of the files that help build the calendar.

I would try deactivating the calendar plugin, then delete it, then download a fresh copy from your account page, and then reinstall. If that doesn’t make a difference, you might check the file permissions of the wp-content/plugins/espresso-calendar folder using FTP. They should be the same as the other WordPress plugins in the plugins folder.

Thanks Josh – I will give that a try first thing tomorrow am

Josh – thank you! It was a file permissions problem on the Events Calendar plugin. Folder was set to 700 instead of 755 (octo notation) – made sure to ‘apply changes recursively’ and voila the calendar appeared.
