I am thinking about moving a weekly lunch registration system to EE from a system we’re using now.
BUT … people are not going to type in their CC info every time.
Does EE solve this problem?
Can EE store someone’s info and let them register for lunch each week with just a login and password?

EE does not store any credit card information itself, because to do so would open up a whole can of worms with PCI compliance. However, the off-site gateways, such as Paypal, authorize.net, WePay, etc, are experts at PCI compliance and can store customer’s credit card information for use later.

OK, so how do I configure Authorize.net to work with EE in such a way that the CC info will be stored? I mean, in order to make that work, a login and password has to be generated by someone. I don’t think Authorize.net does that, so it would be an EE or WP function, right?

Hi Alice,

To be clear Event Espresso will never store card details.

You could look into something like this http://www.authorize.net/solutions/merchantsolutions/merchantservices/cim/ but it may need custom development to integrate with Event Espresso.

You can request a customisation review here http://staging.eventespresso.com/contact/customization-request-form/, though we are likely to refer you ontyo our recommended developers http://staging.eventespresso.com/developers/event-espresso-pros/ as our workload is currently quite full.
