In Event Espresso’s General Setting, under Email Settings, you need to change “Send registration confirmation emails before payment is received?” to “No“.
I’m using 1.27 and that is how I have it set (no) and I’m receiving two simultaneous emails: first the payment confirmation then the registration confirmation. Any other ideas? It would be great if EE had an API w/ hooks, etc so I could deregister the default and add my own.
There is a hook that can be used to remove the standard email functions, but I think you can accomplish this without doing any custom coding.
In addition to Jonathan’s above suggestion, I’d add this:
You can set the Email Settings to not Send Payment Confirmation emails. Then the Registration confirmation email will become the One Email that gets sent out to the registrants after they pay. You can add payment info by using custom email tags to this and any custom emails you configure by using the Email manager.
After setting up the email, and when you set up the event, you’ll need to change the Custom Confirmation Email setting to yes and select the pre-existing email that you set up in the email manager:
