I have installed EE in French, but the pdf invoice doesn’t get translated. Everything is translated in French in the .po/.mo files (strings like “Bill to” etc.) but they appear nevertheless in English in the pdf invoice.

Thank you in advance for any solution.

This is actually a known issue that we haven’t been able to track down with the invoice. We’ve looked into this before and haven’t been able to come up with a way to pull translated strings from the .mo file to the invoice.

What you can do is use a custom function that runs the strings through the WP gettext filter. There is some example code that you can use to translate the labels on the invoice in our documentation:

Thank you. For the time being I’ll do this. But soon my site will be bilingual and I plan to use wpml. What will be the solution then?

I’m afraid that we do not have a solution for this that uses WPML. Event Espresso isn’t WPML compatible.

Thank you. What translation plugin would you recommend for multilingual EE sites?

Hi,

Event Espresso isn’t integrated with any multi-lingual plugins. Some users have tried using WPML or qTranslate, but we are not aware of how successful they were.
