With this solution PayPal collects payment information from customers using an inline frame (iframe) on the merchant’s web site or on a fully customizable page hosted by PayPal hence no need for an SSL as I am on a shared server. Has anyone used this solution and can help me implement it?

It isn’t a system we have looked at internally though we may in the future. You could check out our recommended developers page and see if they could assist you. http://staging.eventespresso.com/developers/event-espresso-pros/
