Hi,

For some reason PayPal payments are not being recognised in the attendee list for my event, i.e. they are showing as ‘Payment Incomplete’ with nothing having been paid when in fact PayPal payments have been received.  I have the option ‘Force HTTPS on Return URL’ selected – not sure if this implicated in the issue.

Please can you advise how to troubleshoot this.

Thanks,

Nick

Hi Nick,

Are you using PayPal standard or PayPal Pro?

Hi Dean,

It’s a business account, so I presume that means PayPal Pro.

Hi,

Not always. Does the payment take you to PayPals site or remain on yours? If it takes you to PayPals site, please test without the force HTTPS on, as this should only be needed if you are using on site payment processes.

It takes me to PayPal’s site.  OK, I will disable that option and see how the next payment goes.

Setting the Force SSL option will actually break things on your site, including the instant payments notification from PayPal since your site doesn’t have and SSL certificate. Here’s a quick test you can do to see what happens when someone (or in the case of PayPal, something) tries to connect to your site over https:

If you copy/paste the URL of your website into the address bar of your site, and change the http: to https:, then try to load the page, you’ll get an error message if your site does not have SSL set up.

Thanks – all seems to be working well now that I have disabled the option ‘Force HTTPS on Return URL’.
