…and the result is when people sign up for a course, they are getting the confirmation page with the details they’ve input.

When they click’Confirm Registration’ (I believe that’s the nomenclature), it goes back to the same page and generates another registration.

This occurred after a new website install, reinstall of EE…etc.

Help!

Hi Hugh,

It doesn’t sound like the issue you have going on is related to the PayPal gateway, but instead the registration process. I checked your site and it looks like it’s trying to run the current version of Event Espresso, but at the same time it’s trying to run template files from an older version of Event Espresso. This simply will not work.

What you can is go to Event Espresso>Template settings and click the button at the bottom of the page and that will rename the /wp-content/uploads/espresso/templates directory. This will allow the current version to work as expected.

One more thing that you will likely need to do: There’s a common theme problem where there is code from the theme that breaks the [ESPRESSO_EVENTS] shortcode. You can fix this by wrapping the shortcode on the main registration page with the [raw] short tag.

It will look like this:
[raw][ESPRESSO_EVENTS][/raw]

Hi Josh,

Thanks very much for this. I just renamed the directory as prescribed. Can you unpack the second instruction a wee bit for me please? I’m not following this; where would I find the ESPRESSO_EVENTS shortcode?

Thanks (this was set up by a contractor and I’m trying to figure it out now so I can run things myself!

Hi Hugh,

It’s the page where you register for an event. If you go to the Event Espresso>Generals page, under Page Settings, there is a setting for the “Main Registration Page”. The page that is set there will be the page that has the [ESPRESSO_EVENTS] shortcode on it.
