I am running EE4 running on WordPress 3.8.1.

I did a test in Paypal sandbox mode. After logging into Paypal sandbox with my fake account I clicked pay, the page will go into processing mode. When completed I expected the browser to go back to EE4 on my website. Nothing happened. The Paypal page just It just said ,

“Return to (my fake id email)
Go to Paypal Account Overview”

I took a chance to click on Return to (my fake id email) and the broswer went to EE4 Thank You Page on my website.

I checked The Registration Tab and it list the registration as Not Paid.

I check the Transaction Tab and it is empty.

An email was sent to the email I used for registration and it states that Payment status is incomplete.

What should I do?

Hi Reza,

I ran a couple live PayPal tests earlier this week with EE4 and they worked.

However, I did not use the PayPal sandbox. Could you try setting up a test event with a low ticket cost such as $1 and re-testing with a live PayPal account?

Hi Lorenzo

I did the test with live data as suggested. The payment was successfully made (and received). However, the browser stayed at the Paypal page until I clicked ‘Return to (MY COMPANY NAME)’. When I clicked, it went to another paypal which then said that I’ll be redirected back to original website. It went to my Thank you page.

EE4 shows transactions complete.

Is this the normal behaviour. I am just concerned that if the buyer does mot click on the Paypal page that the transaction would be shown as Not Complete whereas Paypal had already processed payment.

Hi Reza,

It turns out that you can make it so PayPal automatically redirects them back to your site by changing a setting in your PayPal account:
