Integration with 15+ payment gateways. Looking at using PayPal Advanced. Is EE going to work with PayPal Advanced? Thank you.

At this time, no, we don’t have support for Paypal Payments Advanced. We have support for Paypal Payments Pro and Paypal Standard.

Thanks!

If I use PayPal Payments Pro, we will need a SSL Certificate in order to process the payments on our website. I spoke with PayPal today and they asked me to check with EE to see if they provide this. I’m not sure why they are asking me to check with you? Am I missing something?

Hi Mary Ann,

They are correct. You will need an SSL certificate in order to use PayPal Payments Pro because the transactions will be processed on your site, whereas with PayPal standard, the customer is taken to Paypal’s site to process payment.

We do not provide SSL certificates. You can purchase one through your hosting provider.

With PayPal Advanced, customers will pay without ever leaving our website and a SSL is not required like the Pro. We do not want our customers leaving our site to process the payment as in PayPal Standard.

Is there another payment gateway that EE is integrated with that will offer the advantages of PayPal Advanced?

We do not want to purchase a SSL or have our customers leave the site for processing. Thank you.

Sorry Mary Ann, all of our on-site gateways require an SSL.

I’ve seen others recommend http://www.startssl.com/. They have free SSLs.
