Hey,
I’m trying out event espresso and we have quite a lot of conferences/events so are finally looking to this as a new option.
The problem we are currently having is that although a person pays, the transaction in the ‘attendees’ doesn’t update and says ‘incomplete’ instead of ‘confirmed’.
When I try to do this manually, it just says ‘pending’ and again won’t switch to confirmed…
The payment has definitely been made.
Is there any ideas as to the possible cause of this?
This will usually be caused by the Instant Payment Notification being disabled in the PayPal account’s settings. PayPal actually disables this by default, but you can log into your PayPal account and enable it.
1) Log into your PayPal account
2) Click My Account > Profile
3) Click Selling Tools
4) Under Selling Preferences, look for Instant Payment Notification Preferences
5) Click Choose IPN Settings
6) Enter your website’s URL for the listener URL. If you’re using other e-commerce software for your PayPal account, you can enter a different URL here. Event Espresso will override this with its own listener for ticket transactions.
7) Save
