Hi.

I made adjustments previously to the wp_query to allow for ordering by start date & start time: http://staging.eventespresso.com/topic/order-by-start_date-start_time-in-wp_query/

However, these changes were overwritten in updates.

Is there a more permanent solution?

Hi,

It looks like those changes are to core files, and at least one function is not pluggable so I am doubtful that there is a solution that wont get over written on updates, barring adding the code to the core plugin formally.

So, is it accurate to say that ordering event posts by start date AND start time is currently outside of Event Espresso’s capabilities?

Those changes have been committed to the 3.1.37-Alpha branch. So if you make them to 3.1.36.1.P, then that should be the last time you’ll have to. Unless there is another point release to 3.1.36, then they should be included in the next update.
