If an event is free, it would be nice to show Free instead of €0.00. This can confuse some users who think it might take them to a payment page etc. Difficult to believe, but true ;)

I’ve read: http://staging.eventespresso.com/topic/display-events-as-free-event-instead-of-0-00-in-event-meta/
but I can’t see in the PHP how it does one thing for 0.00 and another for >0.00.

My question: What’s the best way of displaying Free in place of 0.00?

Hi there,

The topic you linked to involved swapping out one function for another. If you look in pricing.php you’ll see the function it’s calling. We actually did change the function that pulls the price in event_list_display.php so that it displays “Free Event” automatically if the price is set to 0. Are you running the latest version of Event Espresso and have updated templates in /wp-content/uploads/espresso/templates?
