Needs to CUSTOMIZE Payment Option for a Single Event

    Dilemma: We have a single event happening in two weeks. At this point, I only want registrants who PAY when Registering (vs. being prompted to follow-up and pay) by credit card or through PayPal.

    However, for the on-going registrations for other workshops, all three options (pay now, invoice, or check) should remain options.

    Question: How do I CUSTOMIZE payment option to a single option (Payment processed throug through PayPal only) before they can submit registration?

    Hi Raedorah,

    How are you today?

    Currently all the gateways that you activate are options for any event. So, if you want to allow people only choose one gateway then you can only have one gateway activated. An experienced developer might be able to perform some trickery with PHP and CSS, but that’s not necessarily recommended. In Event Espresso 4 we’re going to take into consideration being able to choose which gateways can be used on a per-event basis.

    With regards to only accepting registrations until after payment is received. Event Espresso has several registration status’ so you can tell who has paid or not. Capturing an attendee’s information is not the same as an approved registration. It’s best if you capture the attendee’s registration BEFORE payment is attempted in the case that their payment was not successful (for a lot of reasons e.g. internet connection dropped, bad credit card number, your server failed, etc.). If you don’t collect the attendee information before payment then you have no way to know if someone tried to register but was not successful and you can’t follow up with them to help them finish registering and collect payment. You can also hide the registration confirmation page (as a setting in EE) if you don’t want to show them that screen.
