Hello,

I have used the demo version to try to get an answer to this question myself and unfortunately I think the answer is no but I wanted to post here to get a definitive answer in case I missed something.

I need to have multiple pricing options with additional add-on items that can be purchased. For example, the registrant needs to be able to purchase any number of tickets at the general price of $100 but then also be able to purchase what I would call an add-on, for example a full page ad for an additional $1000.

So they could choose 5 tickets at $100 each and then also choose to purchase a full page ad for $1000.

I didn’t see how this would be possible without adding a pricing option for every possible combination (1 ticket and full page ad, 2 tickets and full page ad, 3 tickets and full page ad, etc.) And this would get out of control if there were multiple options for the add-ons (full page ad or half page ad).

An answer would be greatly appreciated as I need to get this regiatration up as soon as possible. If it can’t be done with EventEspresso then I need to find another solution.

Thanks,

Steve

Hi Steve,

Event Espresso does not have a feature where you can sell non-event items alongside events. What some have done is set up a non-event item for sale as a separate event and use the Multi Event Registration add-on to sell these in the same transaction. It works okay, but it’s more of a work around as Event Espresso was designed primarily for selling tickets and registrations for events.

Hi Josh,

It sounds like this might work for us but is there an example of this somewhere I can look at and show my client so they can see how it would look to the attendees? I tried with the online demo but it doesn’t look like I can explore this functionality with the demo.

Thanks,

Steve

Hey Steve–

Here’s an example of the workaround that Josh is referring to: http://eetesting.info/3.1.josh/event-registration/?ee=1191

Hi Chris,

Thanks for that! Is there a way I can see the code for that so I know how to replicate it on my site? I have been trying using the shortcodes for the three events i have on a page but the links are not showing up…I’m a bit of a novice with this module and wordpress in general so I could be doing something wrong but I was using the codes directly from the documentation on the site.

Thanks,

Steve

To clarify further this is the code I put on a regular word press page:

[ESPRESSO_CART_LINK event_id=”2012-scholarship-fundraiser-1-4fce454749922″ anchor=”Purchase Tickets” direct_to_cart=1 moving_to_cart=”Redirecting to cart…”]

[ESPRESSO_CART_LINK event_id=”2012-scholarship-dinner-souvenir-journal-ads-1-5013601e549fb” anchor=”Purchase Ads” direct_to_cart=1 moving_to_cart=”Redirecting to cart…”]

[ESPRESSO_CART_LINK event_id=”2012-scholarship-fundraiser-sponsorship-1-50135f7c821b3″ anchor=”Purchase Sponsorship” direct_to_cart=1 moving_to_cart=”Redirecting to cart…”]

When I do this nothing shows up on the page.

Try using the event_id instead of the unique event identifier. The event_id is the number listed under the ID column of the event overview.
