Hello, I’m building a website for a theatre and I’ve tested a lot of event apps for a wordpress, but none of them provided me with a needed functionality. It was mentioned, that Event Espresso (EE in future description) gives you the possibility to manage multiple dates and multiple times for one event, but I would like to clarify that.

– We have a lot of performances and some of them recur at exact same time, but different dates – that’s a simple thing and it’s possible to manage it with almost any plugin for WP, including the EE.

– Some of performances recur several times a month and at different times. So, is it possible to setup performance, that occurs f.ex on 18.07 18:00, 25.07 15:00, 31.07 21:00?

– And some of performances recur several times a day. So, is it possible to setup performance, that occurs f.ex on 18.07 at 15:00, at 18:00 and at 21:00?

And is there a shortcode or any possibility to rip out of the database all dates and times when some event will occur and display them in a list of that event’s page.

Hello Roland,

– Some of performances recur several times a month and at different times. So, is it possible to setup performance, that occurs f.ex on 18.07 18:00, 25.07 15:00, 31.07 21:00?

The Recurring Events Manager add on plugin can assist here, at least in part. It will enable you to create events that recur over time, eg one event a week on a monday for 6 weeks (it can also so non ordered periods). Currently it doesnt automate times unfortunately so the events would need to be manually edited to change the times.

– And some of performances recur several times a day. So, is it possible to setup performance, that occurs f.ex on 18.07 at 15:00, at 18:00 and at 21:00?

I am assuming you have a fixed capacity for each performance, in which case you would need to set up an event for each time period. Or we do have an experimental feature built into the plugin where you can set capacity limits based on time. Do for instance you set the single event with a capacity of 100 and then each time slot with a capacity of 20. This feature works for most people but there are occasionally issues with it (experimental) so that needs to be taken into account.

If fixed capacity isnt an issue, then adding variable times is a built in function.

And is there a shortcode or any possibility to rip out of the database all dates and times when some event will occur and display them in a list of that event’s page.

We don’t have anything pre-built that does that, though it should be possible with some custom development.
