Hi, I’m having trouble when I activate the MER it’s breaking my theme’s slider on the homepage, it seems to be causing some conflicts with jquery and/or blocking the stylesheet for that theme from loading correctly, and also a couple other plugins stop functioning. I’ve got the MER deactivated right now to avoid trouble with my client’s site visitors, but I was wanting to try and figure out what’s going on as soon as I can, so if you let me know when you want to take a look at it I can go in and activate the plugin so you can see what it’s doing. The website is: http://home2teach.com thanks.

Hi Melissa,

I think the root of the problem is the version of jQuery is 1.9, which was released just last week. If you change that to use the version of jQuery that is shipping and tested to work with WordPress 3.5 (which is jQuery 1.8.3) This will likely fix things.

The only other thing I’d add is the version of Event Espresso that’s installed is 3.1.15.P, which is over one year old and may not be compatible with WP 3.5. The newer versions of Event Espresso + Multi Event Registration have been updated to be compatible with WP 3.5.

I’d start with changing the jQuery library first though. It looks like the plugin that’s removing the version of the jQuery library that ships with WordPress and replacing it with its own may be the “thethe tabs and accordian” plugin, but that is only a guess from viewing the page source.

hmmm I’m not sure why it’s showing the old version of EE. I just deleted the old plugin and installed the new version of EE last night, same with the newest version of the plugins after I downloaded it. Since I originally thought it was just a WordPress 3.5 compatability issue.

Would you advise deleting my older templates that I had customized for use with 3.1.5.P and just start fresh on the customization aspect?

I will try changing the jQuery library first though to see if that clears things up. Thanks.

Hi Melissa,

I might have been looking at the source of a page that was served as a cached file from before the update.

With the templates, I would back them up somewhere and apply the changes you made earlier to the fresh copies, there has been a lot that’s changed since 3.1.15.P

Sounds good. And you were right “thethe tabs and accordian” plugin was the one with the conflict with WP3.5 so I edited the library according to their site’s support instructions and that’s fixed the issue when I activate MER.

Thanks for your help with troubleshooting!
