Can anyone recommend someone to move an wp 3.5x / EE site from a shared hosting account to a. Virtual private server ?

Is it with the same host? Your hosting provider might do that for you. In general, it shouldn’t be too difficult. It’s really just about backing up the database, setting up WordPress on the new server, installing the database, copying the files to the new server, then pointing the domain DNS to the new server IP.

Thanks – was thinking about the pro’s and con’s of reinstalling all the plugins etc v a backup of WP instance being moved.
